"Mother Never Gave Up"

"Mother Never Gave Up"

In the silence of a cold, dark night,
A mother's whispered prayer takes flight.
Alone she sits with weary bones,
Yet strength still echoes in her tones.

Left behind by a love betrayed,
A husband’s vow so quickly swayed.
Her heart was torn, her soul was bruised,
But for her child, she never refused.

Before the dawn, she’s on her feet,
From kitchen heat to factory beat.
Her body aches, her head feels light,
But giving up was never right.

She skips her meals to let him eat,
And walks him daily down the street.
No new clothes hang in her worn-out chest,
But her child's books are always the best.

Some nights she coughs, her fever climbs,
But morning calls—she’s up on time.
Though pain clings tightly to her skin,
Her love is loud, her will within.

The boy grows up—so bright, so kind,
And never once does she remind
Him of the price that she has paid,
Or of the tears she’s often swayed.

Oh world, respect a soul so rare,
Who carries burdens none would dare.
For on her back, the future rides,
And in her chest, God’s grace abides.

She is no ordinary soul, no fleeting flame—
She is a warrior with no need for fame.
A living light in storm and rain,
A walking heaven shaped by pain.
