After counting, I was struck with surprise—
The numbers rose, spilling past reason.
What once seemed light now feels like weight,
The costs have swelled like waves swallowing plans.

He said he’d repay,
But not as much as what was lost.
There’s a pause between promise and truth,
A distance only patience can cross.

What now, O God?
When logic grows weary of measuring,
And plans crumble within my grasp,
I stop—on the edge of surrender.

I surrender it all to You,
The Keeper behind every gain and loss.
If now I must have less,
Then let the return come greater, in Your mysterious way.

For I know—
What seems a loss may open to grace,
And what shrinks in the world
May grow vast within a faithful heart. 🌙
