A Prayer After a Bad Day
Today felt heavy,
my words fell flat,
my voice stumbled
where courage should have sat.
The professor’s eyes,
I feared their cold,
and all I wished
was to speak bold.
Yet my heart sank,
deep, so deep,
into shadows
where worries creep.
O Lord, hear me—
don’t let this stay,
don’t let one moment
steal my day.
Lift my spirit,
restore my song,
teach my heart
to be brave and strong.
For tomorrow waits
with brighter skies,
and hope will rise
where failure dies.
Guide my steps,
my thoughts, my hand,
let kindness bloom,
let courage stand.
One day, my work
will shine with grace,
approval written
upon his face.
Until that time,
I trust in You—
to heal my heart,
to make it new.
