A Son’s Reflection

A Son’s Reflection

Mother, you’ve done nothing wrong,
Your love for me has always been strong.
I see now the prayers you’ve whispered in night,
Hoping for me a future bright.

Yet, I’ve stumbled, I’ve strayed, I’ve erred,
With thoughts unkind, a soul unprepared.
I cast shadows where your light should be,
Blind to your sacrifices made for me.

You’ve carried burdens heavy and steep,
With all your might, through waters deep.
For my sake, you’ve faced the storm,
Your heart a shield, steadfast and warm.

But I, the one who faltered and failed,
With bitterness and grudge unveiled,
Misjudged your love, your countless deeds,
Ignored the care that my heart still needs.

Now I see through clearer eyes,
The truth behind your silent cries.
Mother, forgive my foolish ways,
Let me honor you in my days.

For you’ve done nothing wrong, I see,
All your prayers were good things for me.
I was the one who held the blame,
Yet still, your love burns just the same.
