Whispers of Focus
A lot of distraction clouds my mind,
Peace and purpose, hard to find.
My eyes grow heavy, sleep draws near,
Yet deadlines whisper in my ear.
The glow of screens, they call my name,
With endless scrolls, it’s just a game.
Social media’s tempting bite,
Steals away the work I write.
My thoughts, they wander far and wide,
Like leaves upon a restless tide.
One minute here, the next I'm gone,
Chasing dreams from dusk to dawn.
Ideas bloom, then fade away,
Elusive as the light of day.
I beg for clarity, just one spark,
To guide me through this mental dark.
I build a list, then watch it sink,
As my mind forgets to think.
Each ding and buzz, a siren's song,
Dragging all my goals along.
Sleepiness wraps me like a cloak,
Until ambition starts to choke.
Oh, gentle focus, come to me,
Set my tired spirit free.
Help me tame this scattered brain,
Bring me back to work again.
Let silence fall where chaos grew,
A tranquil space to think things through.
No more drifting, no more haze,
I want to walk productive days.
To feel the joy of ticking tasks,
Of purpose shining through the cracks.
Please help me now, I humbly ask,
To rise again, complete each task.
Let discipline be my guide,
With courage always at my side.
Dear focus, come and take my hand,
Together, let us firmly stand.
No longer lost in drifting sea,
But rooted deep in clarity.
