Dear Lord,
You see that, right?
The shadows creeping into light,
The silent cries I hide each night—
You see them all, don’t you?
So it is not my imagination,
These trembling thoughts, this hesitation,
The aching in my soul’s foundation,
The pain that whispers true.
Please be kind to me,
When storms arise and I can’t see,
When fear becomes my company,
Let mercy carry through.
Please don’t leave me
When I am lost in doubt and plea,
When faith feels thin as memory—
Be near, like morning dew.
I will love You,
Even when the world turns blue,
When hearts grow cold and friends are few—
My love will still pursue.
I will always love You,
Not for gifts or skies so blue,
But for the quiet strength You grew
Within my spirit’s view.
Forever and ever,
Though time may steal the blooming heather,
No force on earth shall ever sever
The bond that I hold true.
Till the end of time,
Past final breath and fading chime,
Beyond the reach of fate or crime—
My heart belongs to You.
