Thrice I turned away, afraid to see Your face,
Fearing wrath where mercy should have place.
Please, my Lord, do not be angry still—
I am fragile, but I long to do Your will.
I strive for goodness, yet I fall again,
This burden in my life, this quiet chain.
One cruel accident, and all turned gray,
The light I knew was swept away.
Each step I take now stumbles in the night,
Each thought I breathe seems void of light.
How hard it is to climb from shadow’s seam—
The dark devours the edges of my dream.
Please help me, Lord, I whisper, stay,
Be my dawn when skies decay.
I long to walk beside You, near,
To be Your dearest, free from fear.
Please don’t leave me when I lose my way,
Be my guide through night and day.
Be my discipline, my faith, my peace,
And let Your love never cease.
