I Forget That I Have That Thing — A Poem of Remembrance and Repentance

I forget that I have that thing,

A duty not just made of ink—

But of breath, of soul, of sacred trust,

To share the knowledge, fair and just.

The gold, the treasure deep inside,

Harta karun yang tak boleh disembunyi,

A light meant never to subside,

Ilmu yang harus dibagi.

I’m sorry, Lord, I truly am,

Astagfirullah, I whisper in shame.

I strayed away, I lost the thread,

But now I pray, I bow my head.

Semoga ke depan, ga lupa lagi,

Semoga ingat, dalam hati dan diri.

Setiap kerjaan, setiap tugas,

Kupegang erat, tak lagi lepas.

Tuhan, please walk beside my days,

Guide me through the learning maze.

Dalam langkah, dalam diam,

Sertailah aku, penuh salam.

When I am weak, be my might,

When I am lost, be my sight.

Saat semua tugas telah selesai,

Tetaplah di sini, jangan usai.

For You, O Lord, are the light I cling,

The reason I remember that thing.
