A Cry for Guidance

I didn’t want to think this way,
But shadows forced my light astray.
Something dark, a heavy blow,
Came without warning—how could I know?

Were they jealous, their hearts unkind?
Or do I accuse through a clouded mind?
No helping hand, no guiding flame,
Alone, I whisper the silent name.

May the Lord shield me, keep me whole,
Guard my heart, protect my soul.
From ill intentions, from those who stray,
May His light guide my way.

If I am wrong, then let me see,
If I missed the signs meant for me.
Humbly I bow, Lord, hear my plea—
Grant me wisdom, set me free.
