Patience in the Storm

Patience in the Storm

And nothing comes to mind, I sit, I wait, I breathe.
What I wish to say is lost, like whispers in the breeze.

I don’t care for his affairs, they are not mine to bear,
Yet somehow, I should—though my heart isn't there.

I care for my own, my world, my space,
And mine alone—I set my pace.

All is well, it will be fine,
The road is clear, the stars align.

Nothing bad will come my way,
If I just trust, if I just stay.

Yet still, this gnaws, it pulls, it pries,
A restless fire behind my eyes.

Impatience hums, a bitter thread,
Winding tight inside my head.

So I will wait, I will endure,
For in the end, the path is sure.

And if we walk the same design,
I hope all leads to something fine.

For nothing dark, nor lost, nor grim,
Can touch the ones who rise and win.
